Carl Frederic Aagaard (January 29, 1833 in Odense, † 2 November 1895 in Copenhagen) was a Danish painter.

With 19 years Aagaard came as a student at the Royal Danish Art Academy, and became a pupil of the landscape painter Peter Christian Skoovgaard (1817-1875). This was - by his own admission Aagaard - the greatest influence on him.

Together with his brother Johan Peter (1818-1879) worked as a Xylograph Aagaard and etcher. Later he became assistant to the decorative painter Georg Hilker Christian (1807-1875).

Aagaard 1857 was the occasion to present a joint exhibition for the first time, several works, with great success to the public.

Between 1869 and 1870, undertook an extensive study Aagaard trip to Switzerland and later (1875/1876) he traveled to Italy. Of these trips, he brought a lot of sketches that formed later in the studio the basis of his oil paintings.

Aagaard in 1892 was honored with the title "professor".

At the age of 62 years, the painter Carl Frederic Aagaard died on 2 November 1895 in Copenhagen.
